My boat was on land for quite a while. I finally got it cleaned up and back in the water and today was the day I was going to go out and catch a nice big black drum or so I thought.
I left my dock at 7 o'clock sharp and went to my favorite spot for black drum, set both anchors, baited the lines, cast them in just the right spot and was all set to sit back and wait. Whoa...all of a sudden the boat rocked and bumped and then started to move. A very playful manatee was determined to ruin my fishing. I pulled in my lines for fear of hooking her...yes, she played around, twisted and turned enough that I can safely say SHE. I hope you enjoy these pictures.
By the way...I didn't catch any fish, but I enjoyed the morning.
She is checking me out. That is my boat in the lower left corner
Ever see a Manatee's belly button? You can see her holding my anchor line while she uses it to scratch her back. The red line points to the anchor line.
Still scratching her back.
I swear that she is smiling. The red line is pointing to her mouth.
While I was waiting for the Manatee to finish scratching I
thought I would photograph these jellyfish as they floated by.
